Space Travel Patent

This saddens me. A lot. A process of flight, physics essentially, in space is patented by Boeing. I know there are a lot of patents of stupid things in the USPTO, namely all sorts of processes. Computer algorithm patents come to mind in the list of things that shouldn't ever be patented. Such trite things stifle the innovation that brought us space flight.

But, such is the state of great engineering in this country.
